Title A name given to the resource Subtitles For Humorous Effect Subject The topic of the resource YouTube Video Description An account of the resource On a video platform like YouTube, there are quite literally thousands upon thousands of people who upload video gaming videos to the platform. To set himself apart from other uploaders, the British YouTuber SovietWomble has perfected the art of using subtitles within his videos. During times where multiple conversations are going on or during a particularly intense gunfire and explosion filled sequence, the subtitles he provides help isolate bits of conversation and humorous moments so a viewer can focus in on those parts. As all of his subtitles are in the same easy to read font, they can be easily seen and understood. Plus, if more emphasis is required, the size of the font can be changed along with its color, especially when multiple people are talking so the text needs to be differentiated. In this screenshot during a game of Rising Storm 2: Vietnam, SovietWomble is drawing attention to his friend's reaction to a grenade being hurled at him. By using an editing method to point this out, this reaction can be more easily spotted by a viewer in the midst of the cacophony present within the game. This humorous moment is also played up even more with the little animation of a soldier running across the bottom of the screen whilst screaming hoarsely "GRENADE".
