About
This a database of images created by the students of COM/ENG 395 "Rhetoric of Design". The course was a hybrid of a design and humanities course. Every week students posted an image based on the theme for that week. It is understandably an eclectic mix of photographs taken by students, and images from elsewhere. Students were required to write a short byline for each image.
The goal was to consider designed artifacts using a rhetorical schema along with basic design analysis. Many of the students had never taken a design course, so this was an opportunity for them to think like designers. There comments are often insightful.
Hopefully this database will continue to exist for the forseeable future. If this course is taught again, I will have students continue adding images to the database.
