Title
Wolf Plaza Statues
Subject
Statues of NCSU Mascot
Description
These three metal statues of NCSU's mascot decorate the Wolf Plaza not far from Talley Student Union. The statues components are meshed and allows observers to see through them. The statues are about five feet tall (which is tall enough to discourage people from constantly riding on their backs, but not short enough to make such an action impossible).
Two of the three statues are on the prowl while the third stands in the middle, howling. Having more than one statue was a conscious decision, because of the school's motto, "For the strength of the pack is the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is the pack". Showcasing three wolves rather than one illustrates this quote's sentiment. The metal, which could have been shiny, silver steel, is instead a brown metal that better fits the rustic atmosphere created by the bricks and architecture of main campus.
