Description
This is the masthead for the online news site, Vox. This site was started in 2014 as a means to explain breaking news stories for readers. Their signature colors are neon yellow, gray and white. The aesthetic of the site is very modern and "hip", unlike older news sources.
I chose this particular image for this week because of the COVID-19 design features they worked into the masthead. Being as a global pandemic is an event of massive historical significance, I feel that this display could one day be a legitimate artifact from a dark time in the world's history. Vox created a special link for its heading to connect readers with all coronavirus articles and updates. Users don't have to search for information--it's all in one place. There is also a banner underneath the masthead that encourages readers to donate to Vox, as its journalists are helping to keep us all informed during this time.
