Description
Gilmore Girls is a show that was created by Amy Sherman-Palladino in the early 2000s. This show perfectly encapsulates the small town charm that everyone looks for, while also depicting a unique relationship between a mother and her teen daughter. The still I've chosen for this is from S03 EP08, which takes place after a 24 hour dance marathon where mother Lorelai and daughter Rory are absolutely exhausted. Rory had been broken up with the night before by her boyfriend, and she and Lorelai were trudging through the town square to get to the diner they stop by every morning for coffee and breakfast.
As mentioned before, this show represents a picturesque small town along with all of its charm and quirky residents. It seems like there's always a perfect dusting of snow, or the leaves are always orange and red with a fall festival going on. There is always some funny, mildly-dramatic town related thing going on -- whether the mayor and the diner owner are arguing about a stoplight, the town weirdo finally has a date, the whole town reeks of pickles because a pickle truck fell over, etc.
This is a show that I re-watch each fall because it puts me in such a good mood and makes me excited for the seasons to come. It's a sense of comfort for me at this point.
