Description
This is a famous picture of New York City construction workers taken by Charles C. Ebbets. When you look at this picture, you can immediately tell that it isn't from the present day because the men are wearing traditional clothing and it is in black and white. This helps describe the setting better by helping to tell the story of these men. This image is symbolizing the ingenuity and positivity of Americans in a time they needed it the most. During the Great Depression, many New Yorkers found work in construction and the way the entire city fades into the background describes their work. It is the optimism of American people that got them through everyday but created something great in the process.
