Description
This light fixture combines elements of formal chandelier decor styles and functional business/office style lighting. Sleek lines and simple features make the fixture have a modern feel while the concentric half-sphere shapes keep it from having a clinical office feel. These half-spheres also make the fixture pleasant to look at but do not stand out so much as to distract from the main room, like a typical chandelier. White glass upper portion inverts a typical home kitchen light fixture where the glass is the main feature projecting from the ceiling. The grey metal bowl makes the fixture appear more like an office-appropriate chandelier. The three grey metal bars that the fixture hangs from adds depth and contrast the sphere-like portions with perpendicular geometric lines and work to make the fixture look fancier despite adding no structural support when compared to a typical single bar. The bulb is housed in the grey bowl and projects up into the white glass portion. This diffuses the light to make it less harsh than direct lights often seen around campus. It also allows the light to cover a wider radius so multiple fixtures can be spread farther apart and not overcrowd an office space with intense lighting.
