Description
This is an image of the title card for the 1975 film "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." The font is red and looks like it's made up of dripping blood, which is appropriate because the movie itself is a campy thriller/comedy. The top portion of the letters are in a bubble style, while the bottom part of each has the drippy effect. The size of the lettering takes up almost the entire movie screen because it is the main focus of the title card. The font has a very obvious Halloween vibe to it. I think that that's interesting because, even though today this film is screened mostly during the month of October in the US, it was never meant as a Halloween film--it was written as a parody of the science fiction genre.
What I find most interesting about this type/font is that, like other franchises (Harry Potter, Star Wars, etc.) the Rocky Horror font has become iconic over the last 45 years and is synonymous to the brand.
