This image serves as a work of art hung up on the wall amongst other pieces of art but it also has a utility. It uses different typefaces to relay a message to customers at a tattoo parlor. The context of where it is hanging is important because it fits the style of the grunge themed tattoo parlor. It bolds the important words like “Stop”, “putting your feet”, and “Couch” so visually readers can make sense of the message quickly. It also uses humor with the text such as having “please” be in a formal-looking font, while all other elements on the sign are informal. The other fonts reflect the grunge tone. It is also placed above the couch so those sitting on the couch are more likely to see it when they sit down.
